Bwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Graphic from National Black Republican Organization.

The President just cannot get a break.  He is in full panic and bawling mode.  Nobody likes him anymore- even people in his own party.  He is now like the little kid on the play ground who no one will play with.  He is starting to sound like Blago- "I gave you people health care and only get 42%?  What's up with that?"

Democratic candidates are running away from the President; some are running from their own party.  They are distancing themselves.  In certain races, candidates are not even mentioning they are Democrats- as if people did not know.  How they can distance them selves for their support of his policies and their votes is anyone's guess.  He and he alone has put them in a horrible position.

Probably for the first time in history, Democrats are in full panic mode.  If Barack Obama did nothing else, he has destroyed the Democratic Party.  Thank, Mr. President.  Of course now he is being picked on by those mean Democratic bullies.  They are even meaner than those bully Rethuglicans.  Who'd a thunk!

Unemployment is at 9.6 percent ( one and a half to twice is the real figure) and rising.  The economy is still tanking.  Money is tight.  Businesses are concerned.  Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are doing nothing- except bragging about the phony health care, credit, and Wall Street reform bills.  They are bragging about things no one really wanted, except them.  The people have had enough.  They are mad at the Democratic Party and are letting them know it.

The Democrats went along with the President's agenda and got thrown under the bus.  It is all about him, you know.  He cares not about them, or the people, for that matter.  Every time the President speaks Democratic candidates cringe.  The economy and jobs are number one in the minds of the voters.  Obama talks about Iraq, Israel, and immigration.  People are worried about their own economic future.  Obama talks about BP, oil spills, and swims in the Gulf.  Then there are those vacations he and the family keep taking.

Barack Obama is the best thing that ever happened to the Republican Party since Jimmy Carter.  Even hard core liberal Democratic voters are not fired up over the upcoming elections.  There is no enthusiasm.  There is plenty of pessimism.  They are disappointed.

The President's own party is kicking sand in his face and walking away from him.  Leaving him to cry all by his poor little self.  Poor Barack, no body likes him anymore.

Happy Labor Day?

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Today, only 12 percent of workers hold union cards. And if you discount union members who are public employees, barely 7 percent of private-sector workers are union members.

The unions would have us believe they are thriving and their memberships are burgeoning.  They sell the propaganda they are all powerful in the political arena.  With these paltry numbers, it is hard to see how organized labor can be such a force to be reckoned with.  It is easy to see how they can be ignored.  They are being ignored.  By their own membership.  Their own internal polling shows members of unions will not necessarily be voting for Democrats in November.

Members of unions feel their leadership has lost touch with them.  The unions spend inordinate amounts of cash on campaign contributions and to convince their members the Democratic Party is their only hope.  Cash that could be spent on other things- like benefits.

The members also know the tax increases on the rich are a canard.  They know when the Bush tax cuts expire, the with holding tax will increase- taking more money out of their pay checks.  They really do not want to wait until April to get it back.  People are no longer blind to the machinations of government or propaganda of union leaders.  They can count their own money.

SEIU, AFSME, and the AFL-CIO will spend close to two hundred million dollars of their members dues money to help Democrats get elected in November.  They spent vastly over that in the 2008 election, and, in 2009 to get the phony health care reform bill passed.  A bill most of their members were against.

Hundreds of millions of dollars of dues money wasted on political hacks.  Money which could have purchased quality health insurance for their members.

A felon speaks out

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Robert Creamer, a hero of the progressive left, the White House, and other local liberals has written a poison pen piece about banks and their profits.  Mr. Creamer is an expert on this.  He is a convicted felon.  He was convicted of defrauding banks out of a few million dollars and was sentenced to prison for it.  Now he is getting his revenge.

One other interesting note- he is the husband of Jan Schakowsky, who used her Chicago Way clout and methods in an obscene and unethical manner to save South Shore Bank.  Evidence suggests she knew and was involved in her husbands shenanigans, but he took the fall to alone.

It must be nice to wear the badge of courage of a felon, get hero status, and be a hypocrite all at the same time.  It must be nice to have the cowardly media on your side too.  While they always tout Creamer's progressive credentials and his alleged political savvy, they never mention he is a convicted felon.

It is disgraceful.  It is despicable.  It is deplorable.  It is disgusting.  A convicted criminal given hero status and a column.  I wonder how he missed his real chance to shine in progressive circles.  He should have been at the street gang press conference in Columbus Park the other day.  He would have felt right at home with his own ilk.

"a revolving door of reckless ineptitude,"

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Bill Brady is right.  The Pat Quinn administration is reckless and inept.  Pat Quinn was the Lieutenant Governor under an equally reckless and inept governor, Rod Blagojevich.  Pat Quinn had the requisite qualifications for Lieutenant Governor- he was a Chicago Democratic Machine hack and believed government's job was to tax, borrow, and spend.

He kept many of the Blagojevich appointees in their jobs; many who were as reckless and inept as he and Blago were.  When things spiraled South, the revolving door started spinning.  Unfortunately, Quinn replaced the reckless and inept with the feckless and incompetent.  Quinn had a need to appoint people who are worse than he is.

Under Quinn and his predecessor, Illinois has dropped from 17th to 47th in business friendliness.  Unemployment is higher than other parts of the country.  Indiana and Iowa are benefiting from their folly.  Quinn keeps practicing the same things over and over again in hopes he will get a different result.  Einstein called that insanity.

According to the Quinn campaign-

Thanks to Governor Quinn, companies are moving to Illinois and our businesses are expanding. Illinois is adding jobs and outpacing the nation in economic growth.

But there's no doubt that we're still in recovery. That's why Pat Quinn is implementing a step-by-step plan to rebuild our foundations, creating and maintaining good jobs that pay a good wage.

Quinn is promoting the big lie.  Companies are leaving Illinois and business is shrinking.  Jobs are being lost and Illinois is outpacing the nation in economic decline.  The only thing coming into Illinois are thank you cards from Indiana and Iowa.  They are grateful for all the businesses and jobs fleeing to their states.

Pat Quinn tries and fails to generate good sound bites.  When he talks and raises his arms up and down, he resembles a blithering dithering sea gull.  Is this the image Illinois needs for its governor?  It is long past time for hard work.  It is time for hard decisions.  Decisions Quinn has refused to make.

Pat Quinn has made one decision- a massive tax increase.  Since he has borrowed money, and is continuing to borrow money, at loan shark interest rates, and, he has not cut spending, the tax increase will do nothing to erase the over one billion dollar deficit.  It will impact the paychecks of each and everyone of us.

Pat Quinn not only put us on the wrong track, he derailed the state.

Joe "The Lobster" Berrios

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

http://www.costumes-etc.com/images/Costumes/Mascots/Lobster.jpgChicago Magazine, in cooperation with the BGA, published an article on Joe The Lobster, and his various political machinations.  The Lobster, aside from being a powerful commissioner on the Cook County Board of Review, is the head of the Cook County Democratic Party, the Chicago Machine.  He is now running for the office of Cook County Assessor.

Joe Berrios is a throwback to the criminally corrupt machine of the 1930s- 80s.  He is just more sophisticated than the old time rubes.  The Lobster is a man devoid of ethics and does not care who knows it.  Patronage?  Hey, his kids and family members need jobs too.  Campaign contributions from lawyers doing business with his office?  What conflict of interest?  Property tax attorneys working the polls on his behalf, like mere precinct workers?  What is wrong with that?  Lobbying against the public interest and making big bucks from his clients?  No problem.  Investigations of his office and activities?  Par for the course and going nowhere.

It is truly amazing.  He makes other corrupt Democrats look like pikers.  He laughs all the way to the bank and the polls, thumbing his nose at us mere voters and tax payers.  He cares not about the media, investigations against his office, or anyone else, for that matter.  Berrios just cares about one thing.  It is not public service.  Berrios only cares about Berrios.

"Madiganistan"

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Tribune columnist John Kass has given Illinois a new name.  "Madiganistan".  It properly reflects the terror of the political warlord who leads this state.  Make no mistake, Osama Bin Madigan is a political terrorist.  Unfortunately, little has been done to tarnish or topple him.  He is too big and way too powerful to fail.  His power comes from one advantage- apathy of Democratic voters.

According to Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady-  "It's obvious we're all here to serve the Madigans."  Truer words were never spoken.  Mike Madigan is a power unto himself.  Like feudal kings of old, he is the iron-fisted ruler of this state.  His obedient political army of knighted legislators, lobbyists, and operatives are at his beck and call to attack any and all who attempt to defy him.  His princess, the Attorney General, protects his every move.

Kass hits the nail on the head when he opines that every statewide Democratic vote in November is a vote to keep Bin Madigan on his bloody throne.  Unfortunately, too many people do not see it that way.  They just vote the D, well, because, um, gee, er, em, ah; they just vote the D because they always have.  No thought process involved.  It is what it is.  Democratic voters are not known for deep thinking.  They are not known for thinking at all.  They are automatons.

Thanks to warlord Osama Bin Madigan, his party, and his puppet governor, Illinois is nearing insolvency.  Businesses are leaving for greener pastures in neighboring states; being chased out by Bin Madigan's terrorist cells.  Jobs are being lost and the people are being nibbled to financial death by hosts of taxes, fees, and higher costs of living.  After November, it will only get worse.  There will be true fiscal terror across Madiganistan.

It is time for the serfs to rise up.  It is time to take up the pick ax, shovels, and pitchforks.  It is time for the great unwashed to revolt.  It is time for a surge. Osama Bin Madigan must be deposed.  Driven from his redoubt.  His minions scattered.  If there is any reason to vote Republican in November, it is to end the reign of terror of Osama Bin Madigan.

The issues

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Pat Quinn, in a pathetic and desperate attempt to raise his miserable sinking poll numbers, has embarked on a campaign of, well, no one can figure out what he is campaigning for.  Or against.  The only things the voters really care about are the budget, jobs, and corruption.  Each one affects their pocket book.

Pat Quinn's only solution to the worsening budget crisis is to raise taxes- a position he has been advocating for five years.  His only solution to jobs is to initiate programs guaranteed to drive businesses away from Illinois.  Pat Quinn, like the vast majority of Democrats, does not realize it is private businesses- those mean nasty evil corporations- who create good paying jobs.  It is small businesses who create entry level jobs.  Pat Quinn is owned by the unions, especially the SEIU.  Unions do not create jobs.  They only profit from them, as evidenced by the millions of dollars in dues money they spend buying Democrats instead of spending the money on their members.

Quinn has done nothing to cut non-essential services from the state budget.  He has done nothing to prioritize the budget.  He has done nothing to merge or consolidate departments with overlapping responsibilities.  He has done nothing to shrink the state payroll, which is going to cause a severe pension problem in the near future.  Quinn has done nothing, period.

As a true Chicago Machine hack, Quinn has done nothing to stem the tide of corruption plaguing Illinois Government.  What he has done is put an old, worn, dirty bandage on an infected sore.  Quinn does not dare anger the Democratic powers that be; any more than he already has.

Quinn is out there talking about issues most voters care little about in this depressed economy.  The litmus issues, guaranteed to anger targeted groups of people; abortion, guns, mammograms, senior citizen issues, and other social welfare nonsense.  Some people get angered, but the anger only lasts until they realize they keep having more month at the end of the money.

Like most Democrats, he is not paying attention.  The voters are no longer stupid.  The citizens realize no issues can be discussed, no solutions can be implemented, nothing can be done, unless there is a good, clean, honest, and open government structure in place, the state's fiscal house is in order, and private industry is thriving and creating good jobs.

Quinn has not only proven he is an abject failure as a governor.  He is an abject failure as a candidate.

Giving street gangs equal footing

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

The heat is on Superintendent of Police Fancy Pants.   Aldermen are upset about his gang summit.  Why is not known, since many aldermen are culpable for the gang and drug problem.  The aldermen complain that by meeting, parlaying, and making empty threats, Fancy Pants has legitimized the street gangs.  He gave them an equal footing with law enforcement.  Some have also bluntly asked what he has been doing since being appointed and why is he only making empty threats now?

"I can't believe we're sitting down and negotiating with urban terrorists who are killing our kids with guns and drugs on the streets," Fioretti said.

"These are not people the superintendent ought to be negotiating with. They've now been elevated to equals. They're not equals. They belong in jail. It's an admission that the Police Department can't control the streets."

Fancy Pant's meeting was nothing more than a desperation tactic, as one alderman put it.  He has done nothing to stem gang growth, leadership, or violence.  Now, he talks to them- as if it will do any good.  It was not only desperate, it was sad.  Mayor Malaprop, certain Aldermen, community leaders, and the media have their share of the blame too.  They all have enabled the gangs.  The mayor shoulders all of the blame.

For too many years the mayor has destroyed the police department through downsizing.  Mayor Malaprop has always treated the Police Department as a necessary evil.  As the police department shrunk, the gangs grew.  Some have even gone national.  These gangs are now urban armies.  Well armed, vicious, and brazen.  The new root cause of crime is the total ability to get away with it.  As proven by the meeting, the Superintendent's comments, and his empty threats.

During the 1970s-1990s there was a coordinated effort between the city, state, and federal agencies to bring down traditional organized crime.  The media participated heavily.  It worked.  Organized crime, which was a power and political force unto itself in this city, is only a mere shadow of its former self.  It was a top down bottom up approach.  Pressure was applied, laws used effectively, and convictions were obtained.  Leaders as well as worker bees went off to long prison sentences.

The same tactics can be used against the leadership of the major street gangs and drug cartels.  It has to be a top down bottom up high pressure approach; keeping the pressure on, until they capitulate.  There will be no political ramifications, as the gangs, unlike the Outfit, are not really that politically powerful.

The cowards in city hall- mayor and aldermen- and those in the media will not do this.  They are sooo afraid of being labeled as racists; insensitive to the feelings of the communities at large- or some jabberwocky.  The vast majority of street gangs and dope dealers are Black and Hispanic.  The vast majority of crimes are committed by Blacks and Hispanics.  The victims are mostly Blacks and Hispanics.  These are not just mere statistics, these are raw numbers- the real naked truth.  Get used to it!  There is no political correctness here.  This is not a perception.  These are cold, hard, deadly facts.

If there is a major crackdown, there are three fears the cowards have.  One, open warfare between the criminals and law enforcement.  Two, being labeled by community leaders, political preachers and priests, and community organizers as racists.  Three, gang incited rioting (ala Rodney King).  Probably all three at once.  This is where we are at.  This is pathetic.  The gangs hold all the cards, have the sympathy of various groups and aldermen, clergymen, and columnists.  The city, the mayor, and especially the police, will wrongly be blamed for any fallout from a crackdown, instead of the criminals.

Cowards in our city government, a blind and deaf media, and a milk sop police superintendent have created a perfect storm of violent and profitable criminality.  Now they want to wave the white flag of truce, parlay, and negotiation.  They want to give up.  Throw the towel in.  Admit failure.  Soon, they will find some fuzzy brained academic ist, ology, or ism as an excuse for gang and drug criminality.  That will surely make us all sleep better at night.

In the city of Chicago, failure is now an option.

Superintendent Fancy Pants is a disgrace

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Superintendent of Police Fancy Pants met with gang leaders on the West Side on August 17th.  He did not arrest a single one.  He demanded- more like begged- they stop the violence or else they would be arrested under RICO statutes.  Kind of like "if you do that again, I'm going to tell my mommy on you".  I bet those heartless, hard core, murdering gang leaders were shaking in their boots and urinating in their pants at your macho manly threat.  They must now be soooooo afraid of you.

Why hasn't Fancy Pants brought one RICO case against any of the gang leaders since he has been Superintendent?  Why hasn't he used his alleged vast Federal expertise to go after them before?  Why did he meet with them to begin with?  To beg?  He has done nothing to stop the growth of the gangs during his reign of failure.  The only people he has hurt are our police officers, who are afraid to do their jobs because of his draconian retributive policies.  Fancy Pants has destroyed what was once a proud police organization.  He put the final nail in the coffin.

Fancy Pants, get a clue.  Real police officers do not meet, parlay, or beg with the leaders of criminal enterprises.  Real police officers arrest the leaders of criminal enterprises.  They investigate them, indict them, and have them prosecuted.  If necessary, they even kill them.  Having never been a real police officer, or even a real FBI agent, you would not know that.  You spent your whole FBI career using Preparation H as lip gloss to climb up the FBI hierarchy.  Yesterday, you added knee pads to your arsenal.

Instead of begging criminals to stop killing people, you should have put together a task force of city and federal law enforcement officials and pursued RICO cases against the gangs- three years ago.  Now, you go hat in hand and beg them to stop?  Did you order them to disband?  Did you order them to stop selling drugs, creating mayhem, committing other crimes, or dismantle their criminal enterprises?  Did you demand they leave town?  No!  You made empty juvenile threats.  Threats with no teeth.  Meaningless threats.

They can keep their criminal enterprises going, as long as they do not kill anyone?  Nice.  Real nice.

You begged them to stop killing and threatened them with prosecution?  You even gave them job information?  Hey, Fancy Pants, guess what?  The gang leaders do not need jobs.  They are wealthy- tax free wealth.  I would have loved to see and hear the roaring laughter of those gang leaders after you left.  It is just like the laughter of our police officers when your name is mentioned.

Fancy Pants, you are a disgrace to the profession of law enforcement.  You have brought shame and discredit to the Chicago Police Department.  Your actions are a slap in the face to every Chicago Police Officer who has ever worn the Star; especially those who were killed fighting the same kind of criminals you begged.  What you did was deplorable, despicable, detestable, and disgusting.  You should be fired.  Now.  Today.  Before you do more harm.  Every citizen in this city should call the mayor and their alderman to demand you be tarred, feathered, and run out of our city on a rail.  You are not fit to lead a cub scout den, let alone a proud profession.

If Mayor Malaprop agreed with your delusional tactic, he should resign too.  Police officers do not meet with or parlay with organized criminals.  We do not beg themWe arrest them.  You just showed the whole police department and the citizens of this city that you are a lowly, spineless, yellow belly coward.  The worst kind of turncoat.  You have shamed all of us who fought the good fight for years.  You are a stain on our profession.

Permission granted

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

During a briefing at the National Press Club, DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen made it clear Democrats running for Congress would have to demonstrate they can win if they were going to get money from the DCCC.  Basically, the Democrats are deciding who to toss overboard.

There was one interesting moment:

He also indicated that Democratic leaders had given vulnerable members permission to distance — and in some cases outright criticize — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in campaign ads, as Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly, Pennsylvania Rep. Jason Altmire and North Carolina Rep. Mike McIntyre all have done.

“I think the Democratic leaders have said the job of the members is to reflect the views of their constituents as best as they are able,” he said.

If the Democrats were allowed last year to distance themselves from or criticize their leadership, especially Ms. Pelosi, and reflect the views of their constituents, they would not be in so much trouble.  The White House, Nancy Pelosi, and the Democratic leadership are to blame for the party's miserable failings.

Constituents were against the Health Care Reform bill, a bill that reforms nothing.  The leadership forced them to vote for it.  Constituents fear the eroding job market.  Congress passes a Wall Street Reform Bill which reforms nothing.  Constituents care about bread abd butter issues.  The Democrats care about their agenda.

The Democrats have been out of touch with the voters and they could care less.  The voters finally get it.  They care enough not to vote Democrat.  Now, as the campaigns heats up, the party is giving permission to candidates to reflect the views of their constituents?  Isn't that what they were elected to do in the first place?  Represent their constituents?

Privatize

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

For Sale.  That is the new message coming out of City Hall.  Selling off services to private vendors.

Mayor Daley is considering privatizing the Taste of Chicago, possibly curbside recycling and God knows what else.  No word yet on the proposal to privatize the water system.  The parking meter deal- the one the aldermen never read- worked out so poorly, the mayor is considering more privatization of city services.  He needs to fill a 655 million dollar budget gap.  He cannot raise taxes, implement new taxes, or raise fees any higher.  He would be run out of town, along with the fifty dunces in the City Council.  He will not cut all the useless commissions and other wasteful spending out of the budget.

"People don't want to see government growing. They don't want to see their taxes growing," Daley said Thursday at a City Hall news conference. "This is very, very difficult economic times."

Of course not.  Instead of shrinking government- eliminating or consolidating departments, and eliminating non-essential services- Daley just wants to have a garage sale.  To the highest briber- er, campaign contributor, oops, bidder.

Here is an idea.  Since the job of alderman is legally a part time position, their salaries should be cut in half, they should not receive health care benefits, expense accounts, and or pensions.  Aldermen make over two thousand dollars a week, get a seventy five thousand dollar per year expense account, get a full pension for part time work, and get full health care benefits.  They also get to hold full time jobs, businesses, careers or professions- getting all of the above.  This comes to well over ten million dollars a year.  Not counting all the other budgetary shenanigans they create to benefit themselves.

What part time job pays so much and has so many benefits and perks?  Is it any wonder so many half wits stay around forever?  Of course, this will only fill a small portion of the budget hole, but it would send a strong message to the people of Chicago.  It would tell them their elected officials really care about fiscal responsibility, the people's tax dollars.

Knowing the city council, they will probably try to tax something new.  Maybe the air we breath.  Of course the mayor and the council could always sell City Hall.  The federal government would buy it in a heart beat.  They are always looking for a larger prison for corrupt Chicago politicians.

Illinois is in desperate need of good leadership, and playing gotcha over minor issues won't get us there.
For those who don't understand that, maybe someone should send them an e-mail.
The Sun Times is right.  Too bad they are claiming Governor Pat Quinn is a leader.  Far from it.  Quinn is not even a follower.  He is not even in line.
Pat Quinn has demonstrated he is inept and incompetent.  The state is rudderless.  The ship is sinking.  Quinn and his Democratic Party have demonstrated they cannot lead.  They are not stewards of the public trust.

If firing an Inspector General on the same day he briefs the governor over ethical lapses is gotcha politics, then Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady was right; Quinn is an extension of Blagojevich.  Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady is correct when he posits the resignation of Jerry Stermer, Quinn’s Chief of Staff, raises myriad questions.

Quinn took a minor kerfuffle and turned it into a major scandal.  He shot the messenger by firing  Inspector General James A. Wright for investigating Stermer and making a disciplinary recommendation.  Quinn, the Democrats, and the oh so Progressive Sun Times just do not get it.
By firing Wright when he did, Quinn created a controversy and a scandal.  Instead of just suspending Stermer and waiting a few days to replace Wright, Quinn decided to retaliate immediately.  That Wright was on his way out, his replacement already chosen, is now irrelevant.  Quinn’s attempt to cover up a minor ethical lapse- one which Stermer, to his credit, turned himself in for- has blown up into a political scandal and coverup.  Wright is now a martyred whistleblower.  Stermer, who probably made an innocent mistake and reported it, is gone and looks like a fool.  Quinn looks like the corrupt irresponsible dunce he really is.

This is the Domino Theory of ding bat politics.
But, the progressive Sun times is in the tank for Quinn, a true Chicago Machine hack.  They give him the benefit of the doubt on everything.  They continue to make excuses for his feckless and reckless behavior.  This is nothing new, as the Times has continued to back incompetent, corrupt Democrats.  They are Progressive, you know.  They love the Machine and the Combine.

Illinois is in desperate need of good leadership.  Illinois is in desperate need of leadership, period.  Since the Sun Times does not understand that, maybe we should email them:

Volunteer

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

In 2010, we need volunteers like you to break every record in politics -- we need you to knock on doors, make calls, and have conversations with voters.  We want to go beyond any campaign in Illinois history.

We need to bring people to the polls for the first time, return people the polls, and convert people to our cause to vote Republican.  The Democrats have failed and their own voters know it.  We need to convert them.

We need to win historic victories with mandates to repeal and repair the useless Wall Street reform and health care system reform.  Bills that reform nothing.  They are all structure and no substance.  They protect no one.  We need a state mandate to fix Illinois, which is going bankrupt and losing businesses, causing job loss.

VOLUNTEER

We need to protect our economy and keep moving America and Illinois forward -- which means we've got to get back on the doors, talking to voters about how important it is to vote this fall.  We can no longer afford the backward looking Democrats.

So we at The Chicago Republican Party, the Illinois Republican Party, and others working to elect Republicans to Congress, the Senate, and the Governors office need your help.

JOIN THE TEAM

We need thousands of volunteers on the state, county, and city levels to accomplish one goal- elect Republicans to office.  Volunteer here or volunteer to join one of the campaigns.  Let us take our state, county, and country back.  Help us restore dignity and honor to government.  Help us to bring American Exceptionalism back.  Help us to restart the American Free Enterprise System, the greatest economic engine in history.  Help us to save Illinois.  Volunteer today.

Pat Quinn, a Chicago Machine hack, loves to tout his alleged reform credentials to any who will listen, the few who will believe, and the rest who snicker up their sleeves. He is an accomplished liar.  The resignation of his Chief of Staff, Jerry Stermer demonstrates Quinn's talent for prevarication.

Mr. Stermer violated the state's ethics ordinance, over the use of emails for political purposes on state email accounts.  The Executive Inspector General, James Wright, made a finding against him and referred the matter to Attorney General Lisa Madigan.  On the day Quinn was briefed on the findings, he replaced Wright.

On August 13th, Quinn fired Wright and replaced him with Richard Meza, an attorney for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.  In politics, as in many walks of life, timing is everything.  Yes, Quinn had every right to replace Wright, whose term had expired.  But, the replacement on the heels of an ethics cloud over his chief of staff- on the day the governor was briefed- makes Quinn look just like the Machine hack he really is.  The timing stinks.

Worse, Quinn and AKPD, the campaign firm, formerly run by David Axelrod, parted ways last week.  They were embroiled in this controversy, as the emails were between one of their operatives, Wright, and the state Budget Director.  There were other emails regarding campaign questionnaires.

Pat Quin is not open or accountable to the people of Illinois.  He is dishonest and disingenuous.  Quinn continually proves he is not fit to lead.  Aside from his incompetence and irresponsibility, he is just another corrupt Chicago Democrat.  He talks about reform.  He talks about ethics.  Actions speak louder than words.  Quinn acts like a Machine hack.

Instead of firing his Chief of Staff, he shot the messenger, Wright.  Then, he allowed the Chief of Staff to resign with dignity, through a very carefully crafted announcement, intended to make them both look upright and ethical.  It should have been the other way around.

Quinn just cannot do anything right.  He cannot even figure out the right way to cover up mistakes.  If his predecessor turned the governor's office into a cess pool of corruption, Quinn went one step further.  He has turned it into a circus act; clowns running Illinois.

It is finally time to restore dignity and honor to the governor's office.  It is time for Quinn to go.

Hope and change or doom and gloom?

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

In 2006 Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic leadership promised to drain the swamp of political corruption in the House of Representatives.  Promise made.  Promise broken.  Congress is more corrupt now than it ever has been.

Since the Democrats took control of the legislature, this country has gone down hill.  They obstructed the Bush Administration, and they caused the financial collapse- a collapse that was predicted unless they took legislative action.  Their remedy, blame Bush.

Barack Obama campaigned on hope and change.  He delivered doom and gloom.  He turned us into the laughing stock of the world and embarrassed the nation with his Anti-American apology tour.  He allowed the President of Mexico to debase our nation from the White House lawn.  His worst crime is the total destruction of the American economy, aided and abetted by the Democratic legislature and leadership.  His refrain- blame Bush.

He finished what his party started in 2006.  In nineteen months we have gone from bad to worse and now worse to worst.  The "official" unemployment rate is 9.5 percent- the real rate is one and a half to twice that.  The national debt is out of control while the Democrats are planning to control each aspect of our lives while eroding our freedom.  Industry, manufacturing, and business are stagnant.  Soon, there will be no good jobs.  The only career choices left will be floor workers in big box stores, stocking and selling more and more foreign made products.

The Democrats have not only broken their trust with the American people, they have caused the citizens to fear and loath their government.  They refuse to listen to what the people need and want; instead pushing an agenda based upon what the party demands.  We are now a government of the party, by the party and for the party.  Soon, it will be a major crime to to oppose the party, instead of the government itself.

The  Democrats have labeled Republicans as the party of no.  Good.  We should be proud to be the party of no.  Sometimes little children have to be told no for their own good.  The Democrats are the little children.  Maybe we should change their name to the Demobrats.

Typical

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

During the month of July, there were 303 shootings in Chicago, causing 33 deaths.  According to the Chicago Tribune, past statistics show the number is typical for July.  33 Deaths, including two uniformed off duty Chicago Police Officers.  Typical?

I guess Superintendent Fancy Pants and Mayor Malaprop are giddy with the typical figures.  They can point to their success at keeping the lid on crime.  303 people shot, 33 people killed is not typical.  It is disgraceful.  This mayor, and his totally unqualified Police Superintendent, have done nothing to end the spate of typical violence in this city.  They just spout numbers.

The gangs and drug dealers are now armies of urban terrorists.  Under this administration, they have been allowed to grow into large deadly forces.  Forces which can no longer be reckoned with.  They have been enabled and molly coddled.  Mayor Malaprop refuses to unleash the police or any other law enforcement agencies on the gangs and crack down to eliminate them.  He just spouts off about inanimate objects like guns and drugs.  God forbid he should blame people.

Do nothing to upset the gangs or drug dealers.  Don't make the baby cry.  Well, it is time to not only make the baby cry, but to make the baby scream.  It is time to dismantle the gangs and drug operations from the top down and the bottom up.  It is time to go after the leadership- in and out of prison.  It is time to clamp down.  Hard.  The only shooting victims should be armed criminals.  Shot by the police.

It is also time for the media to stop assisting and enabling criminals.  It is time to put the leadership on the front pages- just like they did with Capone and the rest of traditional organized crime in the past.  It is time for the media to shed its phony racial or ethnic sensitivity and do what is right.  Show Chicago who the real criminals are.  Let us see the enemy within.  Who cares what certain groups, activists, preachers, community organizers, social workers, or race and ethnic columnists think?

The shooting victims don't.

Recapture Illinois

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Over the next 10-plus weeks, will each of us care enough not only to get our own fanny to the polls, but to recruit and educate other citizen-soldiers in the fight to recapture Illinois?

Because if we do, we can create real consequences in this election — and in Chicago municipal elections that follow.

The Chicago Tribune editorial today blasts the Democratic leadership troika of Madigan, Cullerton, and Quinn, along with the business  as usual system of running this state.  The editorial does not only demand change, it demands consequences.  The consequences should be the ejection of Chicago Democratic Machine and Springfield Democratic Combine hacks from Springfield.

The Illinois Democratic Party- the little sister of the Chicago Machine- has proven it is too corrupt, inept, and irresponsible to lead or govern this state.  The citizens are paying the price of corruption, waste, fraud, and mismanagement- five hundred million dollars alone in Chicago.  God knows how much statewide.

In Chicago, we feel the human toll with the political establishment enabling the gangs and drug dealers who kill our children and police officers.  It is time for consequences.  Severe consequences.  Illinois and Chicago can no longer afford the corrupt and criminal Democratic Party- a true felonocracy.  We can no longer keep going down the same apathetic path we have generation after generation.

Their time has come.  Like all evil empires, the Democratic Machine must fall.  They must be crushed.  They must be strewn on the trash heap of history.  It is time to clean house.  To drain the swamp that breeds Democratic monsters.  Enough is finally enough.

Bill Clinton hits the campaign trail

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

“It is my professional opinion that he has done a much better job than he has gotten credit for so far. And all elections are about the future, so what is the alternative?”

That was Bill Clinton exhorting (extorting?) the troops at a stump speech for Democratic candidates.  He also begged for two more years of Democratic leadership in the House and Senate.  He told the crowds if they failed after two years, they should throw them out of office.

Why wait two years?  The Democratic legislature has given us a health reform bill which reforms nothing, but creates more massive federal bureaucracy.  They have given us a Wall Street reform bill which reforms nothing, except create a new affirmative action program, and, creates a regulatory infrastructure to enforce it.  They have done nothing to create private sector jobs or give incentives to businesses to build factories and other industrial plants.  They have ruined the banking industry and the investment sector.

The Democrats have increased our national debt to Herculean proportions and have set the stage for disastrous tax increases, further eroding the economy.  They have destroyed the greatest economy in history, they refuse to listen to the people, and they refuse to work with anyone else.  Their idea of bipartisanship is my way or the highway.

The alternative, Mr. Clinton, is to throw the bums out now before they do anymore damage.  Since 2006, the Democrats have done more harm than good.  Under Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, they have destroyed America.  Our financial resources are depleted and the people are fearful and angry.  They killed optimism.  They peddle pessimism.  What is left of this great nation cannot afford to wait two more years.  There will not be enough left to even turn us into a welfare country.

Bill Clinton is a masterful politician and communicator.  He is a great salesperson for his party.  The problem is they have nothing to sell- except smoke and mirrors.  To paraphrase George Orwell, Mr. Clinton's language is designed to make lies sound truthful, murder respectable, and give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.

Questions

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

After all the hoopla and the grand staging of the post trial Rod Blagojevich show, there are some questions.  Rod Blagojevich is a convicted felon facing sentencing.  He is out on bond awaiting retrial of other charges.  Nothing was said about any new bond restrictions or controls on his activities.

As a convicted felon will he be allowed to travel the country with his one man circus show?  Is he under the control of the US Marshall's Service, the BOP, or any other group?  Why was there no request for him to wear a monitoring bracelet?  Will he be confined to his home?  Will he be allowed to continually blast and debase the US Attorney's Office, the FBI, space aliens, and all his other perceived enemies?  In effect, are there any controls on this convicted felon?  Doe he pose a flight risk now?  Is he a threat to the community?  None of this was addressed.

Or, as it appears, will he be allowed to go about his business as if he was vindicated of all charges and act free as a bird?  So, will some one answer the question?  Does this convicted felon get to act as if he were never convicted, with no control over his movements or his mouth?  Will someone finally exercise some sanity, be the adult, and finally control this criminal?

Pelosi must resign

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

What is Nancy Pelosi thinking?  She is calling for questioning- some say investigating- who is funding opposition to a Mosque being built near Ground Zero in New York.
"There is no question that there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some," said Pelosi, "and I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded? How is this being ginned up?"

Ms. Pelosi has stated she wants information on those funding opposition to the Mosque being built.  Who is going to investigate?  Who is going to be investigated?  What kind of information does she want?  Is this an egregious abuse of power to silence expression and dissent?  The threat of investigation?  What right does government have to question or investigate legitimate dissent or its funding?
Ms. Pelosi, like many of her progressive Democrats, do not believe in the United States Constitution.  To them, it is just a an archaic document, belonging to the past.  Whether she was serious or not, her statement has a chilling effect and a negative impact on the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of expression.  Since when, barring criminal, seditious, or treasonous activity, does our government have the right to investigate- or even question- people opposed to something?

Ms. Pelosi is a master at abusing her power.  She has finally gone too far.  The issue is no longer the building of a Mosque, freedom of religion, or taste and insensitivity.  The issue now, is our right, as individuals and groups, to dissent or fund legitimate dissent.  Ms. Pelosi has taken the stance that the Constitution, especially the First Amendment, is worthless.

Her comments are beyond pathetic and silly.  They are egregious and dangerous.  No amount of clarification, backtracking, or claims of misspeaking, can erase the ugly image of this woman demanding the investigation of legitimate dissent.

The Republican Party should demand her immediate resignation as Speaker of the House and as a Congresswoman.  The groups opposing the Mosque should demand she resign.  Any intelligent citizen of this country, who deems their individual rights more important than her privilege to hold office, should demand she resign.  Her comments are a detestable expression of her disdain for the oath of office she took- to uphold and defend the Constitution- and for the Constitution itself.

She, and her ilk, have proven they are not fit to govern a free people.  They do not believe in freedom or liberty.  If she is allowed to stay in office, what will stop her from demanding arrests for dissent?  Or passing laws prohibiting legitimate dissent or its funding?

Ms. Pelosi is the most powerful person in Washington.  More powerful than the President.  She has been corrupted by her power and it is now time for her to leave.  Or be thrown out.

Open Letter to Patrick Fitzgerald

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Dear Mr. Fitzgerald,

Today, I listened to one of the ugliest debasing and dehumanizing diatribes against a public official.  Rod Blagojevich, Sam Adams Jr. and Sam Adams Sr. railed against you for your efforts to convict Blagojevich.

I congratulate you and your office in the prosecution and conviction of Rod Blagojevich.  You did not lose, and, I have full confidence you will prevail at retrial.  I would like to express my gratitude to you and your office for being the only true watchdog over government we have.

You did, in fact, stop a crime spree in progress.  You did, in fact, indict and try a corrupt criminal politician.  You did get one guilty verdict.  That is all that counts.  You should be proud.

Messrs. Blagojevich and the two Adams should be ashamed of themselves.  Mr. Fitzgerald, I spent almost thirty years in law enforcement (CPD), and I have never witnessed such a disgusting display juvenile behavior.  One would be led to believe you persecuted some innocent naif, instead of prosecuted a professional Chicago Machine politician.

Mr. Blagojevich is a shameless, remorseless, and brazen individual whose ego has no bounds.  Adams Jr. and Sr. are as bad, if not worse.  I truly hope our media slams the three of them for their disgusting, deplorable, despicable, and detestable behavior.  They are a shame to the legal community and the reason lawyers have such a bad reputation.

Once again, congratulations and thank you.

joeberrios.com

The Chicago Tribune opines, that if one is to be a candidate, one should own their own domain name.  Unfortunately, Joe "The Lobster" Berrios is no that bright.  www,joeberrios.com is a website devoted to Joe Berrios.  Laughably, it is paid for by Citizens for Claypool, one of his opponents.

It is devoted to educate the public on everything truely evil about Joe Berrios, from his supporting the Stroger sales tax increase, to pay to play politics, and of course his lucrative lobbying efforts against the people of this state, county, and city.

The website is damning.  If Joe Berrios is not bright enough, at the very least, to own his own name on the web, how can he be bright enough to be the County Assessor?  Oh, ooops, my bad.  He is a Democrat.

Eulogizing corruption

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Since Dan Rostenkowski died, the media has been eulogizing him and discussing what a great man he was.  They merely gloss over his felony conviction and prison sentence.  Heck, when he was released from prison they gave him a hero's welcome.

Dan Rostenkowski should be remembered.  Everyday, people should remember he was nothing but a cheap corrupt Chicago Machine hack.  He used the Chicago way in Washington to get what he wanted- the people be damned.  Next to Rosty, Charley Rangel is a piker.

What is it about corrupt politicians the media love?  Why do they make them out to be some kind of tarnished heroes- lovable rogues- instead of the crooks, liars, and thieves they really are?  There is a certain hypocrisy in play.  The media will demonize these criminals during their investigations, indictments, and trials.  Then, the pity party starts when they are convicted and sentenced.  The remembrances of all the good they supposedly did sets in and they are sent off packing to prison with hearty farewells.  They come home to a red carpet media treatment when released.

Dan Rostenkowski is just another sad reminder of the venal corruption that is part and parcel of the Chicago Democratic Machine.  If he is to be remembered for anything, the media should hold him up as a sterling example of all that is wrong in politics.

Synthetics, polemics, thesis, antithesis, and clarification

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

This is an extract from a blogpost on Powerline detaing the conflicting personality of the President.  They explore his continual positing from one position while acting from its opposite.

Barack Obama came to prominence, and then to power, as a synthesizer. He held himself out as a visionary who could overcome the stubborn clash between thesis and antithesis that has characterized our recent politics.

The appeal of this type of rhetoric is obvious. First, Obama was able to cast himself as a reasonable man, capable of seeing both sides of an issue. Second, he was able to cast himself as a decent and charitable man, capable of seeing the good in the fiercest of clashing adversaries. Third, he was able to cast himself as an intelligent man (albeit in the facile manner of a bright college sophomore or a slightly above average law student), capable of finding similarities where lesser intellects can spot only differences.  Read more>

Alexi announces formation of caucus

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Illinois Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias has announced that if he is elected to the Senate, he will form a Progressive Caucus of like minded Senators.  Alexi Giannoulias has demonstrated he has no knowledge of the United States Senate or how it operates.

Unlike the unruly House of Representatives, the Senate- called the upper chamber of Congress- has a tradition of comity, fraternity, negotiation, and personal interaction.  Most Senators refer to each other as my good friend or my esteemed colleague- unlike members if Congress, who act like children on the play ground.

Traditionally and historically, the Senate does not allow for niche caucuses or any other special interest groupings of its members.  The Senate prides itself on the perception of its members having open minds and their willingness to pursue common interests.  Even in these extreme partisan times, members of the Senate treat each other with respect and dignity.

One thing Alexi does not really understand is how junior senators are treated when there is a senior senator from their state in the same party.  If, and it may be a big if, Alexi is elected, Dick Durbin will tell him his only job is to sit down, shut up, and do and vote as he is told.  Alexi will be strongly told to forget all this foolishness about caucuses.  Harry Reid will read him the riot act and show him how really insignificant Alexi is.  He will be treated just like the child he is.  He will also be ineffective.  A house plant.

Mark Kirk, on the other hand, does not have to do the bidding of Dick Durbin or Harry Reid.  Mark Kirk, an experienced legislator, can do as he pleases.  He will not be forced to be a house plant.  He will use his experience to quickly adapt to the rules and traditions of the senate, and be off to a running start.  He will be effective immediately.

Alexi has big dreams.  The dreams of an inexperienced young guy, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, never having to earn his way.  He really has no experience and has accomplished very little while during his time in elected office; an office about as responsible as Lieutenant Governor.

Economic times are bad and may be getting worse.  We need people in elected office who can solve real problems in real time.  What we do not need are tyro ideologues in short pants, spouting clap trap and rubbish.  Illinois does not need another Senator Present in Washington.  We also do not need another Senator Tombstone.

Working with Obama

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

The President lashed out at the GOP, blasting them for trying to destroy Social Security.  Then, he told a whopper of a lie.  His usual historic big bold comprehensive lie:

Obama said he's "committed to working with anyone, Democrat or Republican, who wants to strengthen Social Security." But he proposed no ideas for doing that.
Just like so called health care reform, Wall Street reform, and any other reform, or program.  His idea of bipartisanship is I won, it’s my way or the highway.  Even some Democrats are angry over his smug and dishonest attitude.

But, in the true and honest spirit of bipartisanship, I would like to work with the President.

Mr. President, first you need a history lesson.  Real, factual history, not made up revisionist history.   The reason Social Security is going broke is the government.  Yes, Mr. President, your precious government is bankrupting Social Security.  Lyndon Baines Johnson took the Social Security surplus to fund his guns and butter administration.  He financed the Viet Nam war and his Great Society failure.   He even won an important court ruling allowing him to do so.

Every administration and legislature since has stolen money from Social Security to fiance their failures.  To save Social Security, the government itself must stop stealing its money.  The solution is simple.  It requires a very short and simple piece of legislation.

The government- President and Legislature- will be forbidden from appropriating, borrowing, or transferring any money out of Social Security.  Advocacy of said actions will be grounds for impeachment.  Next, the government will implement and execute a plan to pay back all the money it stole since the 1960s.

There you go, Mr. President.  I hope my solution was helpful and I fully expect you, as the bipartisan President, to consider it.  Use your clout with the Speaker of the house and the President of the Senate and pass this legislation now.

Oh, and stop lying to the American people about the reasons Social Security is going broke.  Just tell the truth.  The government drove Social Security to the brink.

From the Kirk Campaign

Peter Bella

  Dear Friends:
It's been a very busy day for Alexi Giannoulias - and it's only two o'clock. Like this campaign on Facebook

During an appearance this morning on a local radio show, Alexi got caught in a lie about his previous call to raise taxes.  Then he misled voters about the loans Broadway Bank made to convicted felon and mob pimp Michael "Jaws" Giorango.

By noon, Alexi had already pledged to start a liberal Senate Progressive Caucus to drive Congress farther to the left.  The announcement even had the liberal Huffington Post calling it "curious."

What a way to end a week in which he misled voters about loans to mobsters and withdrew from a candidate forum focused on issues impacting the U.S.-Israel relationship.

It doesn't take much time for Alexi Giannoulias to mislead voters.  That's why we need your time and energy to let voters know the truth.

Please join us on Saturday, August 21st as we officially kick-off the final campaign stretch by gathering in counties across the state for a day of volunteer activities.  Please click here to sign up and receive specific details on a Super Saturday location near you.  If you can't make it but would still like to get involved, please email us at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Here we go again

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

The Inspector General’s office has demanded the firing of a zoning inspector who embellished his resume- claiming he was a construction forman at the time he was ten years old.  It seems his application was pushed through because his father was a friend of one of the Zoning Board Assistant Administrator.

When is enough enough?  Since 2007, several Zoning Department members have been charged in a bribery scandal.  How long do we have to put up with this blatant corruption and patronage?  Alderman claim there is no need for reform, Daley just keeps adding costly layers of bureaucracy to insulate himself- just like the Mob.  The game goes on.  Year after year, decade after decade, generation after generation- going back to this towns inception.

Chicago is the most thoroughly corrupt city in America.  It is a felonocracy that knows no bounds- a cornucopia of corruption.  Unfortunately. reporting on corruption and actually doing something about it are two vastly different things.

There is really only one solution.  Replace this disgraceful mayor and every single alderman.  But, the media, big and small business, and so called community organizations will endorse Mayor Malaprop and his loyal dunces, or their replacement morons, again.

Real change means real change.  In order to change this totally corrupt system, the people in it must be changed.  The time is now.  Republicans have a long history of reform and starting good government reform movements in Chicago.  It is time for us to stand up and be heard.  We have a historical and moral responsibility to go after the grifters, grafters, and organized criminals in the Democratic Party and chase them from office.

Let us show them there is a groundswell of voices for reform.  Let us prove them wrong.  Chicago is finally ready for reform.

Mayor Malaprop's Boodle

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Peter Bella

Chicago motorists will be in for a double whammy soon.  Chicago Parking Meters LLC, the company that leased the parking meters from the city, will be expanding their use of private ticket writers to “boost compliance”.  Translation, they will be issuing more tickets to get people to stuff more money into the meters to boost their profit.  Whammy number two is the 20% increase in meter rates to strike in January and step increases until 2013.   After 2013, meter revenues must rise by "the rate of inflation," either by raising rates, adding meters or increasing operating hours.  In effect, drivers will be getting squeezed over and over again.

This lease was disastrous.  Mayor Malaprop and his fifty city council dunces have finally found a legitimate method to rob the people without a gun.  It is the epitome of old fashioned boodle- selling our streets to the highest bidder.

Worse, the city cannot open up parking lanes for traffic due to construction or any other lane closures without reimbursing the company for any losses.  This causes major congestion on some construction routes.

Public outcry is in the dangerous decibel level.  Does Malaprop care?  Nope!  Revenues to Chicago Parking Meters LLC are running stronger than ever.  That is all that matters- enriching friends of Malaprop.  The public be damned.  It is all about the kachingo$.

If those profits are so high, why do we still have to pay a wheel tax- the City Sticker?  We pay this tax for the privilege of being robbed when we stuff those ubiquitous black boxes or get that sixty dollar ticket.   Then Malaprop and his dunces have the temerity to equate paying these fines with some strange sense of moral civic responsibility.

Who benefited from this theft of city services?  Not the city, not the people.  Just some pals of Mayor Malaprop and a few of his dunces.  Of course there will be a quid pro quo in the form of campaign bribes- ooops, contributions.

We are being robbed by a vicious political system and a company with no mercy.  Worse, businesses, small businesses, are closing their doors.  The parking robbery is killing them.  More will not renew their leases and close when those leases are up.

Mayor Malaprop must have studied some strange form of economics and business.  Strangle businesses by making public street parking to expensive and strangle citizens by issuing those sixty dollar tickets.  Yep, that will really make people want to shop commercial districts.

This lease is nothing more than a throw back to the old boodle days- when the streets were sold to the highest bidders for transit, gas, or electric services.  This is nothing more than a modern form of boodle- graft- theft.  We, the people, are the victims.

Open letter to Harry Reid

Posted by Peter Bella in Untagged

Eloise Gerson

Chairman - Chicago Republican Party

1549 W. Blackhawk Chicago, Illinois 60642

Dear Senator Reid,

I write to protest your statement, as follows: - "I don't know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK."   "Do I need to say more?"

Senator, I am a native of Peru, and a proud naturalized American citizen who chose this country as my home.  I am a proud Republican.  OK?  I do not know how anyone- of either party- could make such a low and debasing statement.  Do- I- need to say more?

Your statements are extreme and dangerous.  In your desperation, you have insulted and demeaned Hispanics.  You have demonstrated you despise the two-party system.   It is apparent you do not believe in liberty and freedom, especially the freedom to choose one’s own party and political determination.

Your feeble attempts to defend your statements are indefensible.  They only add fuel to the conflagration you have started.  One which will never go out!

As an American citizen and an immigrant to this great nation, I find your comments not only patronizing, but deplorable, detestable, disgusting, and despicable.  Your insensitivity to people of Hispanic origin, and, your total lack of knowledge of their history of living under political and economic repression, proves you are not fit to hold elected office.

You have thoroughly demonstrated you know nothing about Hispanics or their long history of suffering under tyranny and despotism.  Your insensitive comments deeply insult Hispanics who suffered under and fled one-party dictatorial rule.  You have opened old wounds and rubbed them raw.  Senator Reid, you are no better than Hugo Chavez.

You are promoting and advocating one-party rule, just like tin pot, repressive Third World dictatorships.  You are trying to institute the very type of one-party repressive regime Hispanics detest.  You have proven, over and over again, you only believe in a one-party dictatorship in the United States.  Hispanics come to this country for liberty, not slavery.  "Libertad y no esclavitud!"

You are pandering to Hispanics, and trying to start ethnic, class and political warfare in a dangerous, shameless, insulting effort to gain popularity and votes.  It is revolting for you to tell or order people what they should believe, who they should vote for, or what political party they should belong to.

You are insulting the intelligence of the Hispanic people and demeaning their critical thinking and discernment.  You act like some patron of the hacienda or finca; talking down to the barefoot peasants, campesinos, or peons. Your patronizing attitude is totally disrespectful and a slap in the face to every citizen of Hispanic origin in the United States.

You are a throw back to the rich and powerful of the Third World who sneer at the peons, who only get poorer and weaker.  Your ilk is the reason bloody revolutions for libertad were fought.

Hispanics come here for opportunity and the right to live in liberty.  They come to rise up the ladder and give their children a better opportunity than they had.  They did not come here to live under  tyranny, be told or ordered who to vote for or what party to join.   They did not come here to be insulted, demeaned, or debased by patronizing public officials.  They came here for a future, not to revert to an ugly past or to live in economic slavery.

In one sense, I wish to thank you for your words.  They have inspired me to work twice as hard to convince Hispanics that the Democratic Party is the party of slavery -  esclavitud.    You have demeaned, debased, and insulted all Hispanics with your patronizing words.  We will never ever forget!
